OptiDCG4H2 Contributes to Discussions on Hydrogen's Role in Europe's Clean Energy Transition
Hydrogen at the Centre of Sustainable Energy Development
Hydrogen continues to play an increasingly important role in Europe's pathway toward climate neutrality and energy security. During EnergyWeek 2026 in Vaasa, Finland, experts from academia, industry, and the energy sector gathered to discuss the future of sustainable and flexible energy systems, with a particular focus on hydrogen technologies and the emerging hydrogen economy.
As part of the event, the OptiDCG4H2 project was presented, showcasing ongoing research and innovation activities aimed at advancing offshore renewable-based hydrogen production. The presentation highlighted the project's efforts to model and optimize the Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCoH) for hydrogen production through electrolysis powered by offshore wind energy.

The project status was presented by Adebayo Agbejule from Vaasa University of Applied Sciences. The presentation was followed by an engaging panel discussion exploring one of the most pressing questions for the Nordic energy sector:
